About Caroline B Goldberg – LCSW
My work with adults, couples, families, adolescents, children, and groups over 30 years is informed by an array of contemporary psychological theories with emphases being on thinking, feeling, and behavior. This also embraces a deep respect for the understanding that so much of our emotional life that shapes us is often outside of our conscious awareness. I am dedicated to carefully customizing my therapeutic approach to the uniqueness of each case. Respect and sensitivity to multicultural issues and different peoples’ needs is a deep commitment of mine.
- My lifelong appreciation and commitment to the Arts also provides a rich backdrop towards finding creative solutions for growth and change.
- I also specialize in working with generations of the Holocaust and the intergenerational transmission of trauma across many cultures.
- Additionally, I facilitate group therapy (on going for 35 years) for young adults (20s, 30s, 40s) struggling with relationships, dating, career, and family issues.
- I collaborate with psychiatrists when medication may be helpful in alleviating distress and/or symptoms.
Most importantly, I embrace a collaborative approach that values an emphasis on peoples’ strengths and resourcefulness, openness to feedback, and creative problem solving that enhances personal growth and greater self-awareness, opening up choices for living richer, more satisfying lives in our complex world.
